ART DECO PRESERVATION AWARDS FOR 2007
Awardees were honored at the Society's Art Deco Preservation Ball on April 28, 2007, at the City Club of San Francisco, celebrating the society's silver anniversary.

Petaluma Fire Station
PETALUMA: Built in 1938 by architect Brainerd Jones, in the streamlined moderne style. A 1970 addition harmonized with the original building design.

Fox Theater, Salinas
SALINAS: Designed by Albert W. Cornelius and built in 1921, this theater became truly art Deco when it was sold to Fox Studios in 1930, who modernized its design. Restored in 1948, it has been maintained to this day.

Former Headquarters for Henery Doelger, Builder
SAN FRANCISCO: Designed in the streamlined modern style, this 1936 building was the headquarters for Henry Doelger, who was responsible for developing much of the Sunset District. |
Scott Morse Residence
SAN FRANCISCO: This streamlined modern home was originally built in 1941 for the Edwards family, who hosted a weekly radio show. A modern marvel, it was all-electric, with cabinets and appliances provided by GE. It became the KGO house after KGO acquired it and began broadcasting from there.
