Join several hundred aficionados of the 1920's and 30's as they step back to a time when elegance was a way of life...at the Gatsby Summer Afternoon the panoramic front lawn of the historic Dunsmuir Helman House becomes the stage on which every participant dresses in vintage-day wear styles of the era..they play, picnic, sip champagne and dance; the Charleston and Fox Trot was all the rage...it is reminiscent of a scene from the famous 1925 novel - The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald's.."Can't repeat the past? Why of course you can!" Jay Gatsby.

Afternoon attire from 1920's- early 1940's (or reasonable facsimile) is required. Find tips on our How to Gatsby pages. Guests also bring period-perfect picnics complete with silver, crystal, linens, china...to simple wicker baskets on vintage print tablecloths. There is no food or drink available at the site so you must bring your own.
