HERITAGE HOLIDAYS AT THE AHWAHNEE
March 5-7, 2006

The Royal Society Jazz Orchestra will be appearing once again in Yosemite Valley for the annual Heritage Holidays at the beautiful Ahwahnee Hotel. You get the awesome setting of Yosemite Valley, the rustic beauty of the Ahwahnee Hotel, and the incomparable music of the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra! This rare event is co-sponsored by the Art Deco Society of California, and they have organized many fascinating lectures, demonstrations, and musical presentations related to 1920s and '30s. Sunday, March 5th: Janet Klein and her Parlor Boys from Los Angeles, 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the Great Lounge in the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Monday, March 6th: The Royal Society Jazz Sextet with Carla Normand play for the Tea Dance in the Great Lounge at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Tuesday, March 7th: The ten-piece Royal Society Jazz Orchestra with Carla Normand and Tom Bopp play for the Grand Ball in the Great Lounge.

These Yosemite events are FREE to the public!

RESERVATIONS. Please call the main reservation number 559-252-4848 and ask for Heritage Holidays at the Ahwahnee. (Don't ask for "art deco" -- it's Heritage Holidays!) Visit the link to the Ahwahnee page for special promotions.

Briefly, lodging packages are per-couple, and one may choose to stay at the Ahwahnee OR Yosemite Lodge, for either two nights or three. Prices are the same as last year: The Ahwahnee 2 vs. 3 nights are $719/$949. Yosemite Lodge prices are $449/545. Price includes double room, two tickets for the Gala dinner in the gorgeous Ahwahnee dining room, and all special events.

All Music and Lecture events at the Ahwahnee Hotel are FREE.

Singer and pianist Tom Bopp, who regularly performs at The Wawona Hotel in Yosemite will be performing in the Ahwahnee Hotel Dining Room during the Gala Dinner and afterwards in the Ahwahnee Bar. Jam sessions in the bar will feature various artists from the RSJO like Frederick Hodges plus singers Sara Klotz de Aguilar and Anne Gibson.
